Overnight Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

Here’s another ridiculously easy, delicious, healthy recipe for y0u guys. It’s oatmeal like your momma made, but easier, better and just as healthy.

It’s as simple as mixing steel cut oats (the best kind), with apples, cinnamon (you know how healthy cinnamon is!), water, sugar and salt. Turn your crockpot on, go to bed, stir, and voila! Breakfast. I dig eating mine with raisins, a little maple syrup, and sometimes a splash of milk or cream. I also make sure to either mix some protein powder into this, or have a few eggs on the side to make sure I’m getting enough protein with my breakfast.

  • 2 apples (peeled, cored, and chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup steel cut oats
  • 4 cups water
  • pinch salt

Step 1
Mix your apples, cinnamon and sugar in the crockpot, making sure the apples are completely coated.
Step 2
Add oats, water and salt, and stir well.
Step 3
Turn the slow cooker on low, cover, and let cook for 8 hours on low. (This works best when your crockpot automatically turns to *warm* when timer goes off).
Step 4
Stir, and add more brown sugar, maple syrup, raisins or any other toppings desired.
